BIO
With a foundation in Indian classical dance and deep enthusiasm for street dance styles like house and hip hop, I've trained across New York, Paris, Berlin, London, Tokyo, Brazil, India and regional Australia.
In 2016, I founded Groove Therapy, aimed at making the mental and physical health benefits of street dance dance accessible to all walks of life. I'm proud to say Groove Therapy has brought the goodness of dance to at-risk youth, First Nations communities, people with dementia, newly arrived Australians, and the average person, using the political and healing foundations that these street dance styles are built upon and mindfully appropriating it in new communities to help spark global conversation and cross-cultural understanding.
All of it unfolded for the love of dance. Then the days turn into weeks, the weeks turn into months and, lo, I’ve somehow amassed 30 years of training as a dancer, and 10 years of experience as a movement director in film and TV, working on global campaigns across New York, London, and Australia for Nike, Adidas, Apple, MTV, Samsung, Google and Victoria’s Secret. I've also worked with famous people that include, but are not limited to; Nicholas Cage, The Avalanches, FKJ, Troye Sivan, Flume, Duckie, Em Rata and The Inspired Unemployed.
But at the end of the day, I just think dance is a great way to warm your cold, dead heart. Give me a buzz and we'll see what we can do about making your next project look less awkward.
